My 17 year old nephew was recently released from the hospital. He had intractable nasuea and vomiting and a fever of 103.8 on admission. After numerous test, and 6 days of IV antibiotics he was still running fever off and on. They never did find out where the infection was, but they did suspect his gallbladder. He also had bleeding ulcers in his esophagus and candida. From what I have read, this is an infection that is only found in those with compromised immune systems. He has missed about a month of school last year due to sinus and other infections, has asthma, frequent nosebleeds, and I did notice several boil like skin lesions, one on his toe which he says he get all the time and calls "infected hairs". Does any of this sound familiar to anyone or am I overeacting? He was hospitalized for pnuemonia as a small child and has had strange skin condition, one time all the skin peeled off of his palms for no apparent reason.
