Well, genes can be passed on to any of your kids, but it depends on the gene and how it’s inherited and expressed. Usually, it won’t be passed on to all of your kids. So, if it’s passed on from parent to child, it may be passed on from that child to some of their children, and so on and so on. So, it can stay in a family gene pool for many generations, but with each generation the threat would decrease.
