I am looking for help after being  DX with of CVIDS by my allergist 3 years ago.  This was based on low  Ig levels, chronic almost intractible sinusitis  with severe scarring, 3-6 courses of ABX a year for URI's for 15 years , and allergies: onset of this began about 15 years ago, at age 30.  I have had only slight response to Sinus Surgery.  I had never heard of the DX, and my PCP was sceptical, felt i would get better by continued consults with ENT'a,  so i did not pursue this Dx further.    The past year has seen increased infections with a possible menigitis ( could not get CSF after 6 spinal taps) last winter, sinusitis, and bronchitis since August.  Past several years have also seen the development of stomach pains and fever, diagnosed as  IBS, related to my heavy ABX use... As a Registered Nurse, I am starting to reconsider all these sx, and as I connect the dots, I wonder if the allergist was right.  I want more information about the disease, and would like to consult for a second opinion. Do you know any specialists in my area?   I think I am too sick for an otherwise healthy man that loves life when he feels well, and does not want to live in fear of infections all the time.  Many Thanks

Sorry to hear about all of your health issues.  What area do you live in?  My son is 23 with CVID, we live in So. Calif.  His pediatric specialist was at UCLA and most recently met an angel of a doctor in Newport Beach.  If you want to chat, theresabumgarner@yahoo.com
