My wife and me are growing more concerned as the months go by. We have a 13 month old boy who fought a bout of RSV in December of 05. Since then he has had one ear infection after another. These were all new infections. He has also had bouts with thrush and a yeast infection in his groin area. He recently had tubes put in both ears and they continue to drain a mucousy discharge. Our son has been on 6 different antibiotics since January of 06. He will be fine two days into the therapy and for as long as the meds are given but as soon as we stop, he will be fighting another infection within 7 days. Does this ring a bell with anyone? At least three of the meds have not worked. He has also had 1 or 2 cases of an eye infection and one sinus infection. As of September 7 he is on another antibiotic for another ear infection. We are also still feeding him formula because he seems to have a problem digesting whole milk. He seems to be fine with cheese but the milk constipates him and gives him what seems to be a stomach ache. We hate seeing our son so miserable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Has he been diagnosed yet?  Lactose intolerance is common with PI.  Another question-have the doctors actually cultured his drainage or are they just "shooting in the dark" with antibiotics?

I have 2 kids with a mild  P.I.D. and they need to be on high dose, extended courses of antibiotics,20 days or more for them to be effective. They have also needed treatment with IVIGG which has helped them get thru these infections and to have the infections resolve.
My daughter had her 1st ear infection at 2 weeks of age...her life was one various infection after another..until age 6 when she was hospitilized for a sinus and ear infection that would not respond to oral antibiotics.Surgery and a PIC line were the result but not the resolve...Her younger brother followed with his own similar but unique problems.
Sounds as though he may have some gastrointesinal issues with milk = gastroentronologist. My son has some gastro issues due to his underlying P.I.D..
Our resolve came with the referal to an excellent
Immunogist,a diagnosis of P.I.D., and treatment to manage this disease.
