Last week we learned that my son's s. pneumo titers were completly absent (he has had all vaccines as scheduled). He was re-vaccinated & will be tested again in 4-6 weeks. What are the chances this one will work? With the exception of one low IGA test (at 1 it was less than 16, no value given, but it was re-tested this fall & was 40) all of his other IG numbers & titers have been normal. But, he has had "chronic reoccuring infections of unknown etiolgy" since 10 months old, he is now 33 months old. We have tried every other test, procedure & med. We have yet to get his chronic cough & chronic runny nose under control. The only time we see any improvement is w/ antibiotics &/or orapred. But, that only lasts 2 weeks max. I feel like this Dx could make sense for him, but I don't want to get ahead of myself, or worry if it isn't. It would be nice if last weeks vaccine was the miracle fix, but even the Dr sounds skeptical. We are seeing an allergist/immunologist for this. He also sees an ENT, GI, cardio & pulmo. TIA!
