JMF Launches Public Education and Awareness Campaign National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control Join Effort The Jeffrey Modell Foundation, together with the National Institute for Child and Health and Human Development (NICHD), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the American Red Cross (ARC) have agreed to establish a National Public Education and Awareness Campaign on Primary Immune Deficiency. The purpose will be to reach parents of young children, public health professionals, physicians, managed care organizations, and the general public. The goal is to encourage physicians to make early and proper diagnoses for children with chronic recurring illnesses. The campaign will be initiated in 1999, and will include media information, press releases, and new publications. the message will encourage the public to reach out to the Jeffrey Modell Hotline at 1-800-JEFF-844. |
