Clinical Excellence & Research Impact

What is the JMCN?

The Jeffrey Modell Centers Network serves as the global standard for specialized Primary Immunodeficiency care and research. JMCN member centers provide:

  • Expert Diagnosis: Immunologists trained in latest IUIS PI classification
  • Advanced Treatment: Immunoglobulin replacement, stem cell transplant, and gene therapy
  • Clinical Research: Collaborative studies with international patient database access
  • Professional Education: Regional toolkits, educational materials, and clinical guidelines in multiple languages

Evidence-Based Growth: Research in Allergy Asthma Clinical Immunology (Quinn et al., 2022) demonstrates 4,250% growth in diagnosed patients (2003-2021), 200% physician growth, and 191% institutional expansion.

Network Research Capabilities

JMCN members contribute to immunology advancement through:

  • Collaborative Studies: Multi-center research with investigators across continents
  • Patient Database Access: De-identified data from 265,000+ patient encounters for epidemiological and outcome studies
  • Research Funding: Apply for Jeffrey Modell Foundation grants including Translational Research and Specific Defect Research
  • Precision Medicine: Participate in Jeffrey's Genetic Insights Program offering whole exome sequencing and genetic consultation
  • Annual Physician Survey: Contribute clinical insights capturing treatment modalities, patient demographics, and diagnostic patterns

JMCN Physician Survey: Advancing Knowledge Together

JMCN members advance collective understanding of Primary Immunodeficiencies through our annual Physician Survey capturing:

  • Treatment Patterns: Immunoglobulin protocols, antimicrobial prophylaxis, and emerging therapies
  • Patient Demographics: Age at diagnosis, geographic distribution, and factors affecting care access
  • Diagnostic Approaches: Laboratory protocols, genetic testing, and time from symptoms to diagnosis
  • Clinical Outcomes: Treatment efficacy, infection rates, quality of life, and prognosis data

Research Value: Survey data informs practice guidelines, identifies clinical needs, and supports grant applications. Data is analyzed and made available to JMCN members for publication and international conferences.

Survey Platform: JMCN members receive credentials to our dedicated survey platform to submit data, review network statistics, download datasets (with IRB approval), and collaborate on multi-center studies.
