We know that sometimes extra planning is required for children and families living with PI due to its unpredictable nature. To help you plan for different activities, we created a checklist of information to prepare and have on hand:

  1. Make a list of emergency contacts.
Be sure to include multiple people and confirm their contact information before you share the list with anyone.

  2. Talk with anyone who should be aware of any accommodations.
It’s important for anyone who will be spending time with your child to be aware of any possible accommodations or adjustments they may need, including breaks, time to administer medication, and more.

  3. Share your immunologist’s name and contact information.
In case of emergency, always share your immunologist’s contact information.

  4. Provide a list of any medications and accompanying instructions.
If your child needs to take any medication(s), be sure to create a list of the name, dosage information, and any side effects or instructions.

  5. Remember to always ask your immunologist if you have a question.
Your immunologist should always be your first stop when you have a question or concern. If you aren’t sure if your child should be involved in a certain activity, be sure to ask for their input.
