We are delighted to dedicate this year’s World PI Week (WPIW) to the memory of our co-founder, Vicki Modell, global patient advocate and leader of WPIW. The global celebration starts today, April 22!
Vicki was a pivotal leader in establishing National Primary Immunodeficiency Awareness Week in 1993, speaking before the US Senate on multiple occasions, and lobbying for several years on behalf of other families faced with a PI diagnosis. She was a passionate advocate and never took no for an answer, always responding with courage, commitment, and compassion. Thanks to her passion and resolve, countless lives have been saved.
It was Vicki’s earnest wish to provide people with hope, one child, one family at a time, and she devoted her life to making a difference in the lives of others. We hope you’ll join all of us at the Jeffrey Modell Foundation this week in honoring Vicki’s remarkable life as we raise awareness, educate our global community, advocate, and answer Jeffrey’s call to Do Something!
