Today would have been Jeffrey’s 52nd birthday. He came into our lives very wanted and very cherished. How could we know that he would only be with us for 15 years? In honor of his life, legacy, courage, and humor, we’re happy to share that we are releasing the documentary Do Something: The Jeffrey Modell Story on YouTube, available now.
Do Something originally premiered in 2019 and has reached hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world. The documentary is available in seven languages so that our global community can learn more about our journey to turn pain into purpose and join our efforts to cure Primary Immunodeficiency worldwide. We invite you to learn more about Jeffrey, and how we’ve continued to Do Something to honor and celebrate his life for thirty-five incredible years.
When we started the Foundation in 1987, our goal was to find better answers to what took Jeffrey’s life so that we could save the next Jeffrey. The documentary follows our efforts to improve early diagnosis, discover meaningful treatments, promote newborn screening for SCID, and ultimately, find cures for PI. Together we have saved countless lives through our programming by raising awareness, advocating, and funding the basic and clinical research efforts of expert immunologists across the world.
We hope you’ll join us in extending Jeffrey’s legacy by watching Do Something on our YouTube channel.
