Welcome to the first edition of our new series JMF Defined! In this series, we’ll explain misunderstood and confusing medical terms so you can be better informed. In this first edition, we’ll be explaining the term CHRONIC

The term CHRONIC refers to a disease that a person has over and over again or lasts a long time and requires regular attention and care. Chronic diseases may limit a person’s daily activities and impact their quality of life. Typically, a disease is considered chronic if it lasts for more than three months.

Chronic diseases are more common than you might think, especially invisible illnesses like Primary Immunodeficiency. Be sure to ask about your family’s history of chronic disease and discuss any questions or concerns with your physician.
